Querétaro and León shared the points after drawing 1-1 at the Estadio Corregidora, in a match corresponding to Liga BBVA MX that had its decisive stretch between minutes 54 and 60, when both teams scored within just six minutes of each other.
How the match went
The first half ended without goals, though there was activity on León's bench before the break: right on the stroke of 45', a double substitution saw Jesús Lara and Edgar Guerra come on for Jordi Cortizo and Alfonso Alvarado, respectively. Before that adjustment, in the 44th minute, Bayron Duarte had picked up the match's first yellow card for the home side.
The second half began with greater intensity and cards taking early center stage: at 52', Lucas Abascia was booked for Querétaro. But the match would truly ignite past the 50th minute, with two goals that changed the script within minutes.
Goals and key moments
León were first to break the deadlock. In the 54th minute, Daniel Arcila converted a penalty to put León 0-1 up and momentarily silence the Corregidora.
Querétaro responded immediately with changes from the bench: at 55', Iker Benito and Álex Alcalá came on for Paulo Victor and Bayron Duarte. The home side's gamble paid off quickly, as just five minutes later, in the 60th minute, Iker Benito himself, having just come on, scored the equalizer to make it 1-1, a result that would hold until the final whistle.
Between the two goals, at 58', Daniel Parra was booked for Querétaro, and following the home side's goal, at 62', Alí Ávila also received a yellow card. On León's side, Iván Moreno was booked at 63'.
The final stretch of the match brought more substitutions than goalscoring chances. León shuffled their attack with the introductions of Salvador Reyes and Ismael Díaz at 68', while Querétaro refreshed their lineup with Erik Dueñas at 79' and Denilson Muñoz at 80'. In the closing moments, León brought on Santiago Londoño at 88', who was booked at 90', the same minute in which Daniel Arcila was also cautioned. Stoppage time brought the final change, with Bernardo Parra coming on for Querétaro at 90'+2'.

The statistics reflect a match of contrasts. León dominated possession with 61% against Querétaro's 39%, and were sharper in front of goal: 7 shots on target compared to the home side's 4, even though Querétaro generated more overall offensive volume with 19 total shots against the visitors' 14.
The home side were also comfortably superior in aerial play from set pieces, with 8 corners against León's mere 1, though that didn't translate into more goals. In terms of ball circulation, León were clearly more precise: 481 completed passes out of 561 attempted, compared to Querétaro's 269 out of 354, a difference that explains the visitors' territorial dominance.
Fouls also slightly favored Querétaro as the more offending team, with 15 against León's 11, while the yellow card count finished 4-3 in favor of the home side's bookings. Querétaro also had three offsides, while León recorded none.

Our take
This draw, in our view, leaves mixed feelings for both sides. León could have taken all three points had they made better use of their clear dominance in possession and passing accuracy, virtues that weren't enough to seal the lead they had secured from the penalty spot.
Querétaro, for their part, showed character in overturning the deficit in record time thanks to the timely introduction of Iker Benito, confirming that bench changes can be decisive in tight matches like this one. The number of yellow cards and the disparity in corners suggest a physical, hard-fought encounter, where the final result seems fair when weighing the balance of clear chances created by both sides.
