The difference in shots on target and greater precision in the final third proved decisive above and beyond possession or shot volume.
In Real Salt Lake's case, their offensive output in terms of shot volume did not translate into clarity in front of the opposing goal, something that, combined with their recent run of adverse results, reflects a difficult moment for the team. We believe the lack of finishing quality remains the main obstacle to reversing the negative trend the Utah side is experiencing this season.
