In our view, the result ended up being more lopsided than the flow of the game suggested, since Lech Poznan had football arguments in their favor — in fact, they generated more shots than their rivals — but paid dearly for their lack of finishing and, especially, for Murawski's red card in the closing stages, which tipped the scales in a match that until then had not been fully settled.

Crystal Palace, for their part, showed solidity in the key moments: they knew how to strike early, capitalize on the penalty before the break and, with their substitutions, found a way to seal the scoreline in added time through Nketiah. It's a start to the league phase that invites optimism for the English side, while Lech Poznan will need to correct course quickly if they want to turn around such an unfavorable start in the standings.
