Our take is that Toluca once again showed why they sit atop the table: they didn't need to dominate the volume of play to take all three points, it was enough to be more effective in the moments that mattered, something that has become a constant throughout their season.
Puebla, on the other hand, leave the impression of a team that competes on equal terms on the pitch — more shots, more corners, more saves — but continues to lack the finishing touch needed to turn that effort into results. The defeat to Toluca confirms that trend and keeps them away from the top spots.
For Los Diablos Rojos, this result at the Cuauhtémoc not only adds points but reinforces the idea that they are going through a great run of form, something the overall standings clearly back up.
